Chief Cheryl Funkhouser

Chief Funkhouser began her law enforcement career in 1993 as a Police Officer with the University City (MO) Police Department. She joined the Chesterfield Police Department as a Police Officer in 1995. After serving in a variety of assignments and rising through the ranks within the agency, she was sworn in as the second Police Chief in the agency’s history on January 12, 2024.

Chief Funkhouser has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resource Management from Lindenwood University and a Master of Public Safety degree from the University of Virginia. She is also a graduate of the 279th session of the FBI National Academy.

Chief Funkhouser is an active member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives, the Missouri Police Chiefs Association and Missouri Women Leading Government.

Chief Funkhouser spends most of her off-duty time traveling and enjoying the outdoors with her husband.
