Chief Don Hood has served the City of Bridgeton, Missouri for 44 years. During his career with the Department, he has held numerous positions, including Patrol Officer, Detective, Shift Supervisor, Watch Commander, Commander Field Operations, and Assistant Chief of Police. He was appointed Chief of Police in August 2010 and also served a dual role as Chief and Interim City Administrator during a time of transition.
Chief Hood is a 2002 graduate of the 208th Session of the FBI National Academy. Chief Hood remains active in numerous professional law enforcement organizations; International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), Missouri Police Chiefs Association, Saint Louis Area Police Chiefs Association, Eastern Missouri Chapter of FBI National Academy Associates to name a few. He was active in the recognition of officers who have been killed in the line of duty via Backstoppers and Police Memorial events.
