Colonel Jeremy Ihler was appointed the Chief of Police for the City of Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Department in 2015. He began his law enforcement career in 1995, to which the majority has been spent in leadership and management roles. Jeremy’s initiatives based on his vision has brought recognition from prestigious organizations such as the Missouri Municipal League, the East-West Gateway Council of Governments, and the Municipal League of Metro St. Louis. Jeremy has attained four master’s degrees and two graduate certificates of achievement in a variety of educational disciplines, is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy and the Missouri Police Chiefs Charitable Foundation’s Command College, and holds a variety of other professional certifications and licenses.
Jeremy serves on the Executive Board of the St. Louis Area Police Chiefs Association as Treasurer. He also serves the Association in other capacities that focus on best practices development and strategic planning. Furthermore, he serves on the Executive Board of the North St. Louis County Police Chiefs Association, Executive Board of the Missouri Intergovernmental Risk Management Association, and is a member of the Missouri Police Chiefs Association.
